he textile engineering she studied years ago didn't seem useful at the time, but later helped her design her own work tools. Music, another source of inspiration, has always accompanied her in one way or another in everything she does.
“Since I began this journey, I realized that my deep beliefs and my profession had to go hand in hand in order to be happy, and that way, I could give the best of myself to others, because that’s what it’s all about.”
Mariona loves nature and the ebb and flow of its rhythms; everything that nourishes us inside and outgrows in it. Knowing and respecting it brings us health and abundance, she says. Mariona understands sustainability as a way of life, an essential teamwork that meets our needs without compromising those of future generations. And it is not only committed to the environment and animals, but also encompasses care for social resources and economics.
Mariona explains that she knows each of the artisans in their work environment and the entire process to create each jewel. The workshops are close, healthy and sustainable. The pace is slow and careful, there is a lot of love and that gives projects a beautiful energy in each one of them.
“I’m looking for minimalism throughout” Mariona says : “I admire owning few things, beautiful and of good quality. Objects that last and exquisite products. I am also a lover of elegance and of femininity and feminine energy.”
Mariona also has a cheerful look towards the future and towards maturity. A look that does not sadden or deny, but rather inspires hope. Putting awareness in our health, is to enhance ageless beauty: natural, changing, authentic and unique.
“I believe in a way of taking care of ourselves from abundance; prevention with consistency, and not from lack, that cruel marketing method that is the fruit of capitalism and so unsustainable.”
The art keeps Mariona from dying of reality: “I couldn’t be happy without surrounding myself with art. It inspires me, nourishes me and heals me constantly. It is a luxury to accompany other artists in their creative processes. I see self-massage as a dance, a meditation in movement, something that beautifies, organizes and raises the energetic vibration”
Mariona believes objects have an aura, and that this aura, if it is beautiful, brings us a lot of harmony.
“I started creating my own tools to offer better sensory experiences and results to the clients who came to receive treatments; being able to play with materials, textures, and temperatures in contact with the skin was my great inspiration. Then, I created my own rituals with them, also for self-care, and called them “Vanity Jewels”: beautiful pieces made by artisans with noble materials.”
The Vanity Jewels are made by hand and carefully crafted throughout the entire process. In the jewels, all surfaces that will come into contact with the skin are made of natural materials with eco-friendly finishes: ceramic, porcelain, bronze, and goat hair.
Touch and temperature are essential, and these materials provide a silky feel and pleasant temperatures. The size, shape, and volume are also carefully studied to ensure the ritual is as effective, easy, and enjoyable as possible.
